What's Happenin' ~ 1 Month Plus

After looking at some other "blogger mommas" keeping track of what their little ones had been up to, I thought I had better play catch up.

In the first month plus a week and a few days...

• Caroline visited the ER (two days after coming home from the hospital). She was fine. Just had some mucous that made her sound a little wheezy. And we were new parents. And I was sleep deprived and hormonal. And the pediatrician on call said to take her (because I was running a fever).
• Daddy had two weeks off with us...and we miss him everytime he walks out that door to go to work. Oh to win the lottery...
• Most of your "night time" sleep time was spent in your bouncy seats...so that Momma could look over from the couch and see you without having to (1) get up, (2) put on glasses. You did spend some time in the bassinet at the foot of Mommy and Daddy's bed, but Momma liked the couch arrangement better.
• Tootie, Aunt KaKa, Mimi all spent the night to help Momma and Daddy get used to taking care of two babies. It was especially nice to have someone here to help Daddy when Momma took that Ambien.
• We took you guys for pictures a week after you came home from the hospital. That was a major undertaking...especially for Momma trying to squeeze in between your carseats in the back seat. I am just now letting you ride "all by yourself" in your seats...now that Daddy has installed the mirrors so we can see what you guys are up to.
• Our outings have consisted mainly of doctor's apppointments...but we managed Granny's house for her birthday, a Mother's Day lunch, and Tootie's a few times.
• Parker Man had to be re-screened at the hospital for his hearing...and thank goodness he passed. (Mom had a freak out moment in the hospital when she found out that he would need to be re-tested/failed.) More than likely there was fluid or some other "junk" in there after delivery that was causing him not to pass.
• Parker rolled over 2 times between Weeks 4-5. Crazy strong...lifts your head like a pro.
• Caroline is strong too...lifting your head to see what is going on.
• You both love when Daddy reads you books...and love to look at pictures.
• Parker spits up more than his sister...so bibs have become our new friend. Prevents a million outfit changes a day.
• Parker's weigh-ins...1 week old down to 6.5, 2 week 6.12, 1month 8.11lbs! Length went from 20 inches to 20 1/4".
• Caroline's weigh-ins...1 week old down to 5.9, 2 week 5.14, 1 month 7.10lbs! Grew an inch...19 inches to 20"!
• Both of you were given sponge baths the first month...Parker's belly button seemed to take forever to close. But bath time is now in your whale tub!
• You both make great eye contact with Momma and Daddy. Even Dr. B commented on how wonderful it was!
• You started sleeping (together) in your own room...and do okay. I think you comfort each other...so you will be together until you start rolling over!

• So far...you guys have been so much fun...a LOT of work...but so worth it!
