Cravings, Cribs, and Cobble...

Whew...

Finally decided on a paint color. You wouldn't think getting the right hue is so important, but apparently it is. We liked one color called "Cloak and Dagger", but didn't like the ominous name and we decided it was too purple. So we decided to go with "Cobble Brown".

While the paint sample was being mixed, I was browsing and Nick commented on my belly. More like laughed, but followed it up with "I have been waiting years to see you like this...it's cute." My response, "Shut up, punk." (Hadn't had lunch...cranky cranky.) Anyway, Nick replied with "Hey...can't blame it on me." Needless to say the guy behind the paint counter looked really confused. I wasn't going to take the time to explain these were IVF babies...let him think up his own story.

Here are a few pics...Nick and my sister in round one of samples...they each had their favorites...

Gracie got in on the action too!

Here is the new color sample on the wall...ended up using it as a "primer" of sorts. Let me tell you it was a huge paint sample!

We also put together one of the cribs. I am super happy with the way they look...and man they were cheap...no let me re-phrase...they were inexpensive. Two cribs for less than what we were originally going to pay for 1!

I have also had my first cravings to speak of during this pregnancy. Up until this point I have not had much of a sweet tooth (which is unusual for me), but it is back! What have I wanted?

C-A-K-E!

So...I broke down tonight, went to the ol' P.ublix and came home with...
Devil's Food Cake Mix
All the fixins' for homemade icing
Strawberry Ice Cream (with real chunks of strawberry)
C.aptain C.runch Berries
Three Cheese B.agel B.ites
Spanikopita
  • For good measure I also bought some lettuce and tomatoes...but who are we kidding?
I have also started to take I-R-O-N supplements...my bloodwork (that they "forgot" to do early on) came back kinda low (2 weeks later got that phone call...can you tell I am a little annoyed?) so I had to go back for a full "anemia" work-up. Should get those results this week. "Should" being the key word.
  • Productive weekend...and now to finish it off with C-A-K-E!

Great progress on the room! And the one craving I had was for sheet cake! Sent hubby to the store a few times to bring back small sheet cakes :) Oh, and of course, had to have ice cream with it. Why couldn't we crave veggies instead???

Hi hun. I'm expecting b/g twins as well...20 weeks today so just a few weeks behind you.
I'm starting the hunt for cribs and wondered where you got such a great deal. We're looking for white as well.
Thanks...and love the paint color!

@Hope...Ugh...veggies. Unless they were cooked on a Hibachi table! Yum!

@WantWait~We found the cribs on clearance at JCPenney online. They are solid wood (probably not the highest quality), but works for us. The cribs convert to toddler beds and if we buy the conversion rails...to a full size bed. I don't think these exact ones are still there, but they have so many to choose from. Good luck...I'd love to follow your blog, but need an invite. ;)

Great color for the room. I'm sure it will all come together nicely. Can't wait to see pics.
