First of all...I am sorry I haven't been blogging. I have started a few posts and either saved them or deleted them because I just haven't had the energy.
I have to post about showers #3 and #4...which were both fantastic.
But...latest update...
I am 34 weeks and 4 days today. On Tuesday, I went for a non-stress test at the perinatologist and the babies passed (mainly due to the fact that they were super wiggly and couldn't stay in one place long enough to be monitored for any significant amount of time). However, I began to have contractions roughly every 6-7 minutes apart and my nurse didn't feel comfortable sending me home.
She called my OB, they said to send me upstairs to Labor and Delivery to have my cervix checked. Great.
I was admitted and they again began monitoring the babies, contractions, and blood pressure. Doctor came over and checked my cervix...nice and closed. However, she didn't like the way my blood pressure looked. (Which duh...my BP is going to be a little wonky when you didn't expect to be admitted to the hospital, but oh well.) Admitted for 24 hours to watch for pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) and to do a 24 hour urine collection. G-ross.
My thoughts were I could do all of this from the comforts of my own home, but whatev. Just add this bill to the pile.
I was moved to the High Risk floor and they started an IV for fluids. My sister came up so that Nick could go home and get some rest, but I began having some pretty strong contractions around midnight and the nurses discouraged Nick from leaving quite yet. (Which led to a panic/anxiety ridden look on that poor boy's face.)
Doctor came and checked my cervix again...still closed...and I was given 2 shots to calm down the contractions. My sister (bless her heart) stayed with me throughout the night and took care of the "urine collecting" as I couldn't bend over far enough to empty it into my giant container...which (TMI) I ended up needing 2 buckets because of the 4 bags of fluids they gave me!
The next day was a waiting game in order to reach the 6:15pm "24 hours O'Pee". I passed...barely. Cut off is 300 for PIH and I was at 260.
So...I was sent home...on bedrest. No cooking, cleaning, shopping, lifting, driving, etc. I have to keep a watch for PIH symptoms and just wait. If the contractions start again I will just have to deal with them and hopefully they will actually lead to some cervical change which would tell us it is time.
But until then...we wait...wait...and wait some more.
(At least this will hopefully give me some time to get caught up on blogging and thank you notes...I have fallen WAY behind in both.)

I'm sorry to here that. Hope everything stayes 'closed up tight' until the right time! :) (sorry- didn't mean to be crude!)
Just wanted to let ya know I too had the terb shot which slowed down contractions temporarily..try to take it easy on bedrest. I've been on bedrest for almost 6 weeks now and though it sucks, it's kept contractions from getting worse (I still have anywhere from 3-10 an hour but they aren't getting worse or changing my cervix. 34 weeks is great....but if you can keep them in even 2 weeks longer....their stay in the NICU may be short or non-existant! Best of luck! I'm 31 weeks on Tuesday and hoping to last until 36 weeks! :-)
Hang in there on bedrest! Just a few more weeks to go!
Hey! crazy, huh? ok, if I can help, just ask........not that you will, but I am so willing!
