Much Ado About Nothing...Really.

Lately, my life has been boring. But sometimes boring is a good thing.

What's been going on? Here is my boring life in boring bullet format. Warning...long boring bullet format.

  • A decision was made about baby bedding. Finally. I picked out some simple bedding from P.ottery B.arn Kids that was on sale (bonus). My mom ordered it with her A.MEX points...even better! Thanks Mom! One is trimmed in pink and the other in blue. Now gotta figure out cribs and the rest of it. But at least it is a starting point.

  • We have somewhat decided on names. Not 100% - but close. So if you don't like it - shut it. Our babies, our names right? For our little girl...Caroline Grace. No...no real meaning behind it. We just have always liked Caroline - Nick went to school in South Carolina...does that count for meaning? Grace...also always liked it (yes...our dog's name is Gracie and I still have to convince my husband that we are not naming our child after the dog). I also think it is fitting considering our struggles and how much we prayed for this child...only by God's Grace. For our little boy...Parker Alan. Parker was my maiden name (and now my middle name) and Alan is Nick's middle name. So there's your hidden meaning...not really hidden!

  • I met with a nutritionist and I am working at getting more protein in my diet. With twins it is recommended to consume 100 grams of protein a day. It is hard work. But, my sweet husband does his part by cooking me eggs (1 whole with 2 whites) almost every morning for breakfast. He is so sweet and those egg sandwiches are darn good.

  • My dear friends have also asked me for names for a baby shower. When they asked I just cried. Hard to believe that I have finally made it to the point where a baby shower is something that might actually happen. It is so sweet yet so overwhelming at the same time. Yes girls...I am still working on that list!

  • My friends also have asked me if I have started a registry. This also turned on the waterworks. I just can't believe that I am getting to the point where a baby registry is in my future. I was telling someone the other night...I just am still not convinced that these are my babies. I think I have felt them move, but not for sure. I have seen pictures of them on the screen, but it could be a tape of someone else's babies. (Ok...this last bit is probably fueled by watching episodes of G.lee...yikes.)

  • I have a weird obsession with my belly button. I have always had an innie...a real lint trap kind of innie...and now...it is disappearing. I don't think I will get an outtie during this pregnancy (thank goodness...those are freaky...no offense of course if you have one), but if you are in the right place at the wrong time...you might get asked to feel my belly button. It is so weird. I feel like these babies are trying to find a way out through there...ouch.

  • I have been feeling better for the most part...only a few bouts of morning sickness here and there. Nothing consistent which is nice. I am still so tired though! In fact...I only put lights on a third of the Christmas tree and was completely satisfied. My wonderful sister and mother came over today while I was at work and finished it up. Now for the ornaments...whoa.

  • Trying to get this semester at work to come to an end. Lots of things going on...between grading, testing, etc. and lots of emotions with a memorial service planned for our friend, Jay, who passed away in May and another member of our department recently being diagnosed (unexpectedly) with a rare form of lung cancer. She is so special to us and it has been emotionally draining. Any extra prayers you could spare for her would be greatly appreciated. But...it will be a welcome two weeks off.

  • Last but not least...Nick has been chasing me with a camera trying to take belly shots. I guess it is sweet in a way...but I still feel just fat...slowly I am beginning to think I am looking pregnant as people at work have asked. I figure...if someone gets up the courage to ask you if you are...then something looks different. So what the heck...here is a preggo picture. In this picture I am 18w5d...and believe it or not...hair is fixed and make-up is on. That's worth a picture in and of itself!

Perinatologist appt tomorrow for my "20 week" ultrasound...even though it is truly a 19w2d ultrasound. Pray that everything goes well!

Well...at 19w2d you are "in your 20th week"...so it is a 20 week US! No worries. You look GREAT, girl. Your belly looks the same as mine except I only have one in there :-) Um. I picked a same middle name as you...but I'll wait till my US on Wednesday to see if we'll be sharing it. LOVE your names. Beautiful. Also having trouble coming to the realization that I need to GULP register...and GULP pick out a crib and bedding. YIKES. Love it!

LOVE THE NAMES! Our favorite first names for our little girl are Caroline, Emma and Amelia. And for a middle name, Kate or Grace! We've picked our first name for sure (Emma) but I adore your name choices! And it's great that the boy's name has so much meaning! You've done good and you look fantastic!

Well, I'm glad we pestered you for another blog entry, 'cause I love it all! The bedding is so sweet, and I think I've already said I love the names.

The belly is looking good!

First off...you look gorgeous in the photo! Secondly, how weird is it that my maiden name is Parker, and my Nick's middle name is Alan? I'm hearing Twilight Zone music right now.

You look adorable, and I love the names!

The protein is hard, I battle with that every day, but I do the best I can.

I eat a really eggy (3-4 eggs) french toast with whole grain bread and milk for many breakfasts. It's close to 60 grams of protein! It's easier for me to stomach than plain eggs.

My mom pushes protein on me, but I can only stomach so much. It usually takes me an hour to eat dinner, but I keep plugging away!
