Gifts

**Sorry...started this post before Christmas...just now publishing. It's been a lazy 2 weeks off from work...really lazy.**

This year I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed to have two "gifts" this year. We were so fortunate to have our first IVF attempt lead to a positive pregnancy test and we can't wait to actually get to hold and play and snuggle with these gifts in April/May next year. Our last appointment with the perinatoligst went very well...the Dr. said the babies look "marvelous". I had a small entourage with me including my 9 year old sister...and leave it to her to get us a 3D sneak peak! It is a gift to hear the doctor say that your babies are growing and developing just as they should. Our little boy weighed in at 12 ounces and our little girl at 11 ounces. They sure are growing!

Top Left: Baby Girl Spine

Top Right/Bottom Left: Crappy Group Shot of their heads

Bottom Right: The most precious Baby Girl foot...looks like Nick's foot!

Here is the 3D image Madison snagged us...Baby Boy "B"...head is on the right side of the image. Still not completely digging these 3D images.

I have been wanting to feel them move so badly. Not just little flutters, but something truly convincing...and yesterday in the car...I had my first distinct kick/punch/elbow from little Miss Caroline. I loved it. Put a smile on my face. Again...another gift. Now I just have to convince her brother to join the party...as I am typing...I feel some flutters on his side...but again...nothing convincing. I am ready for a jab or two from him!

I also was also given two very sweet gifts from two girls in my class. I have always taught at schools where the majority of students are economically disadvantaged...so any sort of card or gift really means so much. One was my first "baby" gift....two blankets made by her mom. So sweet. The other was a bucket of goodies...geared towards a pregnant woman. The girl said I know you love to eat apples and peanut butter (which apparently I did snack a lot during class)...and she also tried to get snacks she thought I would enjoy during the remainder of my pregnancy. Again...so sweet. (I'll take some pics and post later.)

My sweet sister-in-law, Katie, also wrapped up some Christmas gifts for the babies for our family gift exchange. It was so sweet I almost cried...almost...trying to get better about that. The babies got the cutest little PJs, rattles, and links. I can't wait to see how cute they look in them!

Part of the bedding arrived from P.ottery Ba.rn Ki.ds...I love it...a gift from my mom and dad. Can't wait for the the rest to get here!

A colleague at work also gave me a truckload (no joke) of gear...a cradle, a swing, pack-n-play, with bags full of clothes coming later. Awesome! Love it!

**************
Christmas Day addition...

We got one big gift (and Nick's one request) for the nursery from my parents...a flat screen TV to mount on the wall. So he says, he will gladly "hold/feed/rock babies while "the game" is on." Hmm...just have to find some football on in May. I guess baseball will do! We are ready to start getting the nursery ready...but we need the cribs to be here before any major decisions can be made. They should get here Tuesday! YAY!

I will try to be better about posting...try is the key word.
