Pregnancy Brain?

So up until this week I thought all pregnant women were full of crap about this "pregnancy brain" stuff. I mean really. Come on.

However, I have seen the error of my ways. I think I officially have pregnancy brain. I can't remember anything...well...

In the past week at work I have...

• Been late to a meeting with the bossman
• Missed a meeting with the bossman
• Mixed up course numbers on the schedule for next semester
• Assigned classes to the wrong teachers for next semester
• Emailed the same people about the same student multiple times (even after they gave me an answer)
• "Misplaced" copies numerous times
• Forgotten to bring candy for students who "won" an activity in class
• Missed a Senior sponsor meeting
• Lost $5 but then realized it was in my car
• Left my drink in my car (and bargained with a student to go get it in the rain to avoid a late grade on an assignment...of course...her choice)

And of course, this is only what I can remember...

I have also had a hard time (ok let's be honest...hard-er) time not being able to hold my tongue. For example, one of my students was actually working on her project in class and was chatting with her partner. Not sure how it came up but she mentioned that she would love to be "ugly and rich."

My response?

"So I guess you have had to settle with ugly and poor."

I mean come on. Teachers aren't supposed to say things like that...right?

We had a laugh about it, but they make it too easy. Maybe I was a little perturbed by this girl because she didn't know that J.oe Bi.den was the Vic.e-President of the Unit.ed S.tates. So I proceed to ask her (trick question I know)...what is Ob.ama's last name?

Her response?

I don't know...is it Ob.ama Ob.ama?

Really? You can't make this stuff up.

Here's hoping she can't blame it on pregnancy brain.
