Adventures of the Cr.acker Ba.rrel Crack-whore...

We are are back from our whirlwind adventure to the beach. It was short, but there is just something about the beach that puts your mind at ease. Here are a few of the highlights...

  • We left at dark-thirty because we had a good 7 hour drive ahead of us. Our first main stop was at the Val.dosta Cr.acker Ba.rrel. Nick has a love obsession with "Momma's French Toast" and there was nothing I could do to prevent breakfast at the Cr.acker Ba.rrel from happening, but whatever, I needed my Lu.pron shot anyway. I didn't want to lug everything in to the bathroom (plus I have a thing about public restrooms...yuck), so I just set up shop on the top of the ol' Accord...sharps container and all. I proceeded to fill up the syringe and jab myself in the "fat that even skinny people have" right there in the middle of the parking lot. I think I kinda freaked a woman and her child out...she guided her daughter in an alternate direction after seeing me shooting up all Cr.acker Ba.rrel Crack-whore style...I wanted to yell at her..."It's okay Lady...I use a clean needle every time and I properly dispose of my needles too." Alas, I did not.
  • Don't know if you have the same "problem", but when I travel I become a little "clogged up." However, mixed with the Metformin I went from crazy #3, to normal #2. Woo-hoo!
  • Nick (after many "there's nothing like a beer on the beach" statements) kept having to trek back and forth from the beach to the bathroom (which really wasn't all that far). I told him to just go with the fishes in the ocean, but he refused...stating that he didn't want anything to "swim up there" and cause the IVF not to work. I think he saw something about that in a Vietnam War movie and has stayed with him. Whatever...he kept bringing me fresh Kool-Aid (Tropical Punch is awesome) and I was able to keep reading my book.
  • Aunt Flo came to visit at the beach too. Of course, she l-o-v-e-s the beach! I called the doctor and apparently I haven't been on the Lu.pron long enough to come in...so keep on keepin' on with the shots until the baseline u/s next week.
  • My mother made friends with the people next to us on the beach. Of course, she proceeds to tell them about our upcoming IVF cycle. She can't help it. She has a problem. She has been diagnosed with verbal diarrhea. Kidding of course...I really don't mind. We have been very open about our struggles and everything we have been through up to this point. I just find myself becoming more and more guarded about it the closer we get.
  • We both woke up Tuesday with a cold. Talk about a miserable ride home. I think we each went through a box of tissues on the way home. At least the coffee at the Val.dosta Cr.acker Ba.rrel (yep...that's right got to stop there on the way home too!) made my throat feel a little better.
Not a lot to report on the IVF front...
...took my last BCP last night, I will up my Met.formin tonight, and I am continuing with the Lu.pron shots in the morning. I have been trying to order meds, but that has been a total pain.

Guess I need to get on that...not living up to my Cr.acker Barrel crack-whore name!

Love it! You go Cr.acker Bar.rel Crack-whore! You rock. Also glad you split up the word Cr.acker and Ba.rrel, but not whore! :-)

Thinking of you.

I just laughed out loud at the thought of you giving yourself a shot in the parking lot of the cracker barrel. Too funny. Sounds like you had a good time at the beach...anxious to hear how this cycle progresses for you. Take care of yourself.
